His First Test

Handling Hillary:

For someone giving indications she would like to be Obama’s running mate, Clinton was surprisingly ungracious. In fact, if you had just awakened from a (blissful) 17-month sleep, you would have thought she had won.

...But her fighting words only increased the need for Obama to show that he can be strong, tough and in charge. Clinton’s unwillingness to recognize Obama as the victor only increased the need for Obama to act like a president and not like a doormat. And denying her a vice presidential slot may be a way of doing that.

The Nominee

Word is that Hillary will acknowledge Obama has the delegate lead:

The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race in her speech in New York City. Obama is 40 delegates shy of clinching the nomination, but he is widely expected to make up the difference Tuesday with superdelegate support and votes in South Dakota and Montana. Once he reaches the magic number of 2,118, Clinton will acknowledge that he has secured the necessary delegates to be the nominee.

She will pledge to continue to speak out on issues like health care. But for all intents and purposes, the two senior officials said, the campaign is over.

Then comes this:

Clinton aide Howard Wolfson is denying the Associated Press report that she will concede tonight and begin shutting down her campaign.

The key point, my colleague Mike Allen points out, may be in the details here: Clinton said yesterday that Obama would win the delegate majority. But Clinton said she'd won the popular vote, and would campaign on making that case.

...Here's the campaign statement: "The AP story is incorrect. Senator Clinton will not concede the nomination this evening."

Stay tuned.

Childers Wins

The MS candidate who was attacked by the GOP for being terrorist bff's with Hopey won the House seat, giving Dems a 236-199 edge over Republicans in Congress.

Hopey responded today:

"This is a hard core Republican seat and they lost it by eight points. They did everything they could. They ran ads with my face on it," he said, adding that they called Obama a liberal and mentioned his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. "They were trying to do every trick in the book to try to scare the folks of Mississippi and it didn’t work."

Congratulations To Heather Gillman

She won:

U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak decided Tuesday the Holmes County School Board violated Gillman’s right to free speech in November and ordered the board to alert students in writing that they are allowed to express their support for the equal treatment of gays in an appropriate and non-disruptive way.

“I find that the core message here is of tolerance and fairness,” Smoak said.

He added that administrators missed a chance in September to address students’ issues about homosexuality.

“This could have been an opportunity for leadership, an opportunity for understanding and civil discourse and a learning opportunity for tolerance and diversity. Unfortunately, those opportunities were missed,” Smoak said. He said demonstrations at Ponce De Leon High School in September were not so disruptive to allow the school to suppress students’ rights to express their opinions on gay issues.

brickbat Calls West Virginia For Thundercunt

You heard it here first!

Other "news organizations" may wait around for another hour and 16 mins, but we here at brickbat do not believe in such elitist concepts as "math" or "facts".

Hooray for Sen. Thundercunt!!!

She is officially Empress of Hardworking Inbred Monsters.

It's Over

Here's the math:

Total Delegates 1845 - 1693 Obama + 152
Super Delegates 257 - 271 Clinton + 14
Pledged Delegates 1588 - 1422 Obama + 166
Popular Vote 49.6 - 47.3 Obama +2.3
Popular Vote (w/FL) 48.7 - 47.5 Obama +1.2
Nat'l RCP Average 45.1 - 44.9 Obama +0.2

Calls for Thundercunt to drop out are coming from McGovern and Clark.

Hopey is back in Washington lining up the supers.

Ambinder wonders how she'll get out:

Barack Obama is, by almost every measure and by almost every unmeasurable impression, on the precipice of being able to declare victory and have his declaration be accepted by the media and his party. Hillary Clinton needed to find a way to give superdelegates their "Holy Moly" moment, and she failed. Absent an extraordinary intervening event, the question for Hillary Clinton now is how she ends the race. Obama has made it clear that he will not pressure her. It's her decision.

...THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN professes not to be worried about the hardening edges between Clinton's universe of supporters and Obama's universe of supporters. But they concede that reintregrating Clinton supporters in the party will be more difficult than in ordinary cycles. At the highest levels of the Obama campaign, there is no appetite for any talk of a unity ticket so far. Still, big victories in West Virginia and Kentucky will help Clinton make the argument that she is indispensable.

Hitlery Victory Speech Roundup

A few minutes ago, Hillary cankled her way up on a stage in bitter Philadelphia. Her racist perv husband and butterface daughter are there as well.

People are chanting "yes she can", which I'm assuming is an answer to the question "Can she be any more annoying?"

She has solutions for terrorist home lending cells and the America-hating American ozone.

She will steal St. Barack's magic Messiah powers to heal people who have AIDS and the cancers with Baby Jesus stem cells.

Please go to her website and give her money because she is a hobo and is tired of eating Ramen and drinking Natty.

Her daughter took for granted the fact that she could go to school with black people who will not vote for her mother.

She would like to thank the mayonaise funneling Gov. Rendel for all his help, along with 100 other Pennsylvanian mayors who do not love America as much as 9udy 11uliani.

She will stumble, and might get knocked down, but she will get right back up and keep campaigning...even at President Unicorn's inauguration.

She has to steal St. Barack's motto and slightly change it to "yes we will" because she is a very poor transient who needs your money the end.

Policetard

From Gawker:

Everyone's first reaction is that's awful, that's exploitative. To which Josh Perry, the star of the show and a young person with Down syndrome, says shove it, because he knows what he's doing when he plays the eponymous character in "The Retarded Policeman." While this web series largely rides on shocking humor, it mixes up the scandalizing themes (and avoids the scatalogical) enough to remain entertaining. Below, Perry hits on a dude's mom during a traffic stop.

Barack wins. 54% - Clinton's 43% with 25% reporting.

No Thanks

Sen. Thundercunt, who is still in 2nd place, has repeatedly invoked the idea of Barack as her VP:

Bill's in on it too:

So there's the new Clinton strategy. Vote for me. I'll choose Barack as my vice president, giving him the experience he needs to be president....one day. Then Dems can have their cake and eat it too.

Here's Barack's response:

“Now first of all with all due respect, with all due respect," he said here during a town hall meeting. "I won twice as many states as Sen. Clinton. I won more of the popular vote than Sen. Clinton. I have more delegates than Sen. Clinton. So I don’t’ know how someone in second place can offer the vice presidency to someone in first place. If I was in second place I could understand but I am in first place right now."

...“You can’t say he is not ready on day one, then you want him to be your vice president,” Obama continued. “I just want everybody to absolutely clear: I am not running for vice president. I am running to be president of the United States of America.”

Maybe she should try crying again. This "to the back of the bus" strategy ain't gonna work.

Barack Obama wins 59% - Hillary's 40% with 95% reporting.

Interesting numbers:

The AP's latest delegate tally has Obama with 1,578, Clinton with 1,468.

Obama has won elections in 28 states, Clinton has won 15.

Obama Leading In Cousin's State

The clout of Darth Cheney has assisted cousin Barry Hussein in a healthy lead in today's Wyoming caucasian. 59% to Sen. Thundercunt's 40% as of yet.

To celebrate, the two will climb Wyoming's Bareback Mountain where they will hunt down Hilltards and shoot them in the face.

RIP

Danny left Idol.

Hopefully, he will have passed the flame.....er.....torch along to another finalist who will represent.

Sure, we've poked fun and given him shit. And yes, he did act like a persnickety bitch,

What's undeniable is Danny's to thine own self be true philosophy.

We dug it. We still dig it. And we hope this isn't the last we hear of Danny Noriega.

Hillary Wins Texas, Ohio, and Rhode Island

Texas: Clinton 51%, Obama 48%

Ohio: Clinton 54%, Obama 44%

Rhode Island: Clinton 58%, Obama 40%

Real Clear Politics still shows Obama with the delegate lead, 1546 to Clinton's 1449.

What does this all mean?

It means that the next seven, (maybe even more) weeks are going to be torture. Lot's of shitty ads, stupid Youtube videos, cackling, fear mongering, frumpy pantsuits, and excess alcohol consumption.

This Saturday, Wyoming will hold their primary.

Voters from Mississippi will scribble their picks in crayon on March 11.

Then we wait until Pennsylvania holds their primary on April 22.

That is, if we haven't decided to just say fuck it the the electoral process and re-elect W as King of America for a glorious 30 year reign.

Doesn't sound that bad, does it?
