FOUND: One Martian Skull

Ahhh, science. Master of the unknown once again.
When was the last time your Jesus found an alien corpse? Huh?
NASA's robot monster, Spirit, captured the above image while cruising the Mars strip.
Might it be a relative of the Jawa found January of last year?
From the Telegraph:
At first glance it looks like a rocky desert - but this image of the Mars landscape has got space-gazers talking.
An oddly shaped space boulder appears to show eye sockets and a nose leading to speculation it might be a Martian skull.
Internet forums are full of chatter about the picture, taken by a panoramic NASA camera known as Spirit.
One alien-spotter speculated: "The skull is 15 cm with binocular eyes 5 cm apart. The cranial capacity is approximately 1400 cc.
"There appears to be a narrow pointed small mouth, so this creature most likely is a carnivore."
Another joked: "The coronal ridge shows ample structure to support the musculature of antennae, although none are visible in this view.
"The nose area is broad and blunted as you would expect to see in a cold and windy landscape. Is he decapitated or is he buried up to his neck?"

Gadgetry
From Boing Boing:
UFOCapture is a Windows application that helps you videotape meteors and other fast-moving stuff in space. You hook up a sensitive video camera to your computer, point it out your window, and while you slumber, the software saves all the good bits.

Alien Drive-by Video To Be Released Tomorrow

From Rocky Mountain News:
A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.
Jeff Peckman, who is pushing a ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind, said the video is authentic and convinced him that aliens exist.
"As impressive as it is, it's still one tiny portion in the context of a vast amount of peripheral evidence," he said Wednesday. "It's really the final visual confirmation of what you already know to be true having seen all the other evidence."
...An instructor at the Colorado Film School in Denver scrutinized the video "very carefully" and determined it was authentic, Peckman said.
Peckman, 54, said the video was among the reasons he was "compelled" to launch the proposed ballot initiative, which has generated news as far as South Africa.
"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.
A confused Lou Dobbs will attend the event, armed with a shotgun.

Wondercon Brings the Crazy

At this year's annual event for comic and sci-fi fans, the crew from the X-Files admitted to wondering whether or not they hate America:
A fan asked asked about the X-Files and 9/11 controversy. (For those who don't know, the pilot episode of X-Files spinoff The Lone Gunmen is about a plot to crash a hijacked plane into the WTC.) Carter passed the question to Spotnitz, who said:
"We were really upset, and worried that somehow we had inspired the plot. But we were relieved to discover that the plot pre-dated The Lone Gunmen, and that 9/11 had nothing to do with our work. And then once we realized that, my next thought was how the government hadn't known about this plot. There have been a lot of conspiracy theories about the connection between 9/11 and The Lone Gunman, but none of them are true."
Wow.

Questions About Falling Radioactive Material? FEMA Has Answers.

The Navy successfully shot down Darth Cheney's Death Star. So now what?
FEMA has a handy guide for first responders that should've been titled What to Expect When You're Expecting to Catch Space Cancer from Spy Satellites. And it's pretty fucking scary:

The guide also suggests that you "Always stay away from tanks engulfed in fire."
Thanks, FEMA!

Jawa Found on Mars

Above is a photo that NASA's Spirit took while doing recon on Mars.
Some say it's a rock. Others say it's Bigfoot. Others say it's Osama.
I say wait and see if the figure tries to steal and then resell the Spirit. If so, it's def a Jawa.
